Who Told You?

Questions, as they say, are the seed for an answer. If you need an answer regarding any issue of concern, you have to sow the seed of questions.

However, the question here is "who told you?" This is one of the foremost questions asked in the Bible and surprisingly it was the creator of the universe, God, who asked this question.

Most of us are familiar with the story of Adam and Eve. They went to hide because of the sin which they committed. When God could not find them where He expected them to be, He called Adam and asked where are you?

Adam responded and God replied him with a powerful question, not why did you do that, not an exclamation. Rather, God asked, "Who Told You?".

Quick inference from the above storyline is that you are where you are because of what you have been told. There is a piece of information within your mental space that keeps you at that echelon of life you are in right now.

It has been discovered that nobody starts doing something all by himself, there is something they heard, there is somebody somewhere that told them something, shockingly, sometimes information may be received without your notice so far you are in that environment except for the fact you will be surprised to act along with that piece of information someday.

We live in a society where negativity is celebrated like a festival. Negative news sells. Our society thrives on negativity, nothing can be bad as this.

In a society like ours, right from childhood, most of what you receive from the people around you is the story of limitation, impossibility, and failure and by this information, you have been trained subconsciously to believe negative things about yourselves. This has been a pull back for you every time you attempt to move forward.

What is that information?
Who told you it is impossible?
Who told you that you are limited?
Who told you that you are a failure?
Who told you that you are too small?
Who told you that you can't make it?
Who told you can't amount to anything?
Who told you that the dream is unachievable?

Regardless of whatever you have been told and whoever told you. If what they told you does not resonate with your dreams, your inner witness, your vision and ultimately the Word of God, it is a lie.

The sources of information can include but not limited to;
- Your friend
- Your relatives
- The books you read
- The movies you watch
- The news you listen to
- Your teacher/mentor
- Your environment

If you have been polluted with wrong and negative information that continues to make you a failure, maybe it is time to change any of the above.

No matter the level you are at right now, if you can change the information that enters you, you are ready for the next level.

The truth is that negative information is everywhere but...
You have the responsibility of choosing who you listen to.
You have the responsibility of choosing what you listen to.
